Technology

We invest in the latest technologies to ensure detailed and accurate results.

OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography)

Nidek RS-3000

OCT is a non-invasive imaging device that scans the different layers of the back of the eye. It can be used to diagnose and monitor diseases like glaucoma, macular degeneration diabetic retinopathy.

Visual Fields

Medmont and Humphrey Field Analyzer 3

Visual field machines asses and monitor a patients peripheral vision. It is a vital tool for diagnosing and monitoring glaucoma and other conditions that may result in visual field loss, such as optic nerve disease or stroke. VicRoads may request a visual field test as part of of an Eyesight report assessment.

Ultra wide-field digital retinal camera

Zeiss Clarus 500

Retinal imaging is a digital photograph of the back of the eye. The high resolution images are used to document and compare the important structures of the eye over time. It can also be used to detect retinal tears, detachments and other potential ocular pathology.

Axial length measurement

Oculus Myopia Master

Allows for noninvasive measuring and monitoring of the length of the eyeball. This measurement can be used to help manage and reduce the amount of myopia (shortsightedness) in children allowing for better outcomes in adulthood.

Topography

Oculus Keratograph K5

Corneal topography is a scan that creates a 3D map of the cornea (front of the eye). It’s is used to diagnose and monitor keratoconus, and other corneal disease. It is also used to help fit contact lenses and asses suitability for laser eye surgery.

E-Eye IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)

IPL is a non-invasive treatment for patients who suffer from dry eye. The device emits brief, controlled pulses of broad spectrum light which target the Meibomian glands to help produce a more stable and better quality tear film, reducing the symptoms of dry eye.

Blephasteam

Blephasteam is an eyelid-warming device that provides heat therapy to help relieve the symptoms associated with dry eye. Warming the eyelids allows for expression of capped or blocked Meibomian glands, which is a major contributor to dry eye syndrome.
